MTB Sellaronda camp
Day 1. Saturday
7:00 p.m. we are leaving Vilnius by minibus. After the trip through Lithuania and Poland at about 9 p.m. we stop to rest in a hotel on the Polish-German border.
Day 2. Sunday
7:00 p.m. we are going to Italy. After crossing Germany and Austria, at about 6 p.m. we reach the town of Campitello di Fassa (1410 m). We are located in a campsite.
Day 3. Monday
“Easy ride in the Val Gardena Valley” 10 p.m. by minibus we climb to the Sella crossing (2183 m). From the crossing we cycle down the gravel along the Sassolung massif. Visiting E.Comici we go to Selva Gardena (1550 m). After reaching the town and quenching our thirst, we roll asphalt along the river to Ortize (1265 m) on the way visiting the S.Crisitina ski resort (1453 m). From Ortize we start to rise to the church of S. Giacomo (1565). At the foot of the traverse mountain we move on a fun hilly gravel road back to Selva Gardena. From Selva Gardena we start on the main asphalt road to Plan de Gralba (1789 m), after this point we turn onto a gravel road and go further to Sella crossing (2183 m) station and from there a sloping road to reach the crossing). From the crossing begins a fun partly gravel / paved descent through Lupo Bianco and Canazei to the Campitello di Fassa campsite (1410 m). Route: Rif. Passo Sella – E. Comici – Selva Gardena – S. Day 4. Tuesday
“Hard ride around the Sassolungo massif ascending the Duron Valley” 10 p.m. we cycle from the campsite (1410 m) towards the Duron Valley. After crossing a steep hill for 5 km we stop at Rif. Lino Branch (1856). From here we move a 4 km long section of the valley on a lightly gravel hill until we reach the 1 km steep ascent at the end of the valley to the Duron Pass (2168 m). Stuck in the crossing, we can breathe and get stuck in the snow. From the crossing begins a pleasant 16 km long one-track / two-track gravel trail, first to the Zallinger hut (2037 m), followed by a gravel forest road to Mont de Pana (1630 m) and finally to Selva Gardena (1550 m). Resting from the adrenaline, we asphalt to the Sella crossing (2183 m) (an alternative to crossing the crossing is to take the lift (~ 13 eur) from Selva Gardena to Ciampinoi station and from there reach the crossing with a sloping road). From the crossing begins a fun partly gravel / paved descent through Canazei to the Campitello di Fassa campsite (1410 m). Route: Campitello di Fassa – Rif. Lino Branch – Passo Duron – Rif. Day 5. Wednesday
“Enduro around the Sassolungo massif visiting the Alpe di Siusi hills” 10 p.m. by minibus we go to the Sella crossing (2183 m) from here via the Plan de Gralba gravel road passing to Selva Gardena (1550 m). Further up the traverse at the foot of the mountain we easily reach Ciaslat (1605 m). A steeper ascent in the gravel forest begins at the crossroads (1818 m), from here we pass to the Sautaria ski lift center (1690 m). With amazing meadows on the gravel road we easily climb to Compatsch (1800 m), from here we pass again to the Spitzbichl cable car (1725 m), again we climb the bike path to the top station of the cable car (1935 m). We roll on the peaks, cross Laurinhutte, Panorama (2009) lift station, turn towards Aimenrosenhutte (2004), start to ascend to the highest point of the day Rif. Alpe di Tires (2440 m). Admiring the fantastic panorama of the Alpe di Siusi region, we go to the Duron Pass (2237 m), from where we descend the 12 km long Duron Valley all the way down to the Campitello di Fassa campsite (1410 m). Day 6. Thursday
Epic Ride at the Marmolada Glacier 10 p.m. by minibus we go to the Pordoi crossing (2239 m). We sit on our bikes and roll down the slope towards the town of Arraba through a valley of fantastic beauty. Before reaching the town, we turn up towards the Padon crossing. The long, impressive ascent of beauty to an altitude of 2400 m begins. Upon reaching the crossing, the Marmolada Glacier opens up like a palm. In the local cafe we drink coffee and fly down a two-track gravel road down to Lake Fedaya, all the way in front of us shining menacingly looking snow. We have lunch by the lake, take a bath. We continue down the single track in the woods. We reach Alba, cross Canazei (1440 m) and return as winners to Campitello di Fassa (1410 m). Day 7. Friday
“Enduro around the Sella massif” (counterclockwise) at 10 a.m. take a bus to Pordoi Pass (2239 m). (1450 m) From Renaz begins a gravel ascent to Cherz (1651 m), then to the La Vizza ski lift (1758 m) until we reach the highest point of La Marmotta (1920 m) From Marmotta a difficult path descends to the town of Corvara (1522 m) We quench our thirst, regain our strength, step up before the final obstacle course, get on a bus and get on the Gardena crossing (2115 m), cross our bikes at the crossing, roll a few kilometers down the paved serpentine and reach the height of 2060 m. straight down to Linacia (1688) When we reach Linacia, we take the bus again and comfortably climb the Sella crossing (2183 m) From Sella we meet the already familiar road towards the house, without sparing my bikes We go to Lupo Bianco (1715 m), cross Canazei (1440 m) and return as winners to Campitello di Fassa (1410 m). Route: Passo Pordoi – Arabba – Renaz – Cherz – La Vizza – La Marmotta – Corvara – Passo Gardena – Linacia – Passo Sella – Lupo Bianco – Canazei – Campitello di Fassa. Day 8. Saturday
10 a.m. after saying goodbye to Campitello di Fassa, we move towards Lithuania. Travel by bus through the lands of Italy, Austria and Germany. Overnight at hotel in Poland.
Day 9. Sunday
7 p.m. we move from the hotel. We cross Poland and return to Vilnius at about 8 pm.
