Departure from the desired location in the morning.

First, we go to the Museum of Ethnocosmology in Kulioniai village. Ascent to a new observation deck at a height of 40 years with a guide, an overview of the surroundings, if possible – an inspection of an 80 cm telescope.

Later, we go on a tour of the Observatory, where we get acquainted with Lithuanian and world astronomical news, telescopes, colorful photos of planets, stars, nebulae, clusters, and galaxies. Sometimes there is a unique opportunity to look at celestial bodies and through a telescope.

ADDITIONAL EXCURSION (upon request): we go to the old ethnographic homestead on the shore of Lake Lenktinis, in the territory of which there is an ancient observation of skylights – a sanctuary (the tour will start at 6 pm). In the middle of a circle of ten wooden pillars with calendar signs is a stone altar of the Sun-Fire. The poles mark the six countries of the world and the azimuths of the flow and show of the Sun on the most important calendar holidays. By visiting here we will learn how the lights of the sky were observed in antiquity, calendar time calculations are performed, you will hear a lot of interesting things about the pagan faith of our ancestors, knowledge of astronomy, zodiac.

On the way to Vilnius, we visit the geographical center of Europe and see the exposition, which opened on May 1, 2004. According to the calculations of the French National Institute of Geography, the real and only geographical center of Europe is in Lithuania. This fact is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. 1989 Using the scientific method of gravity centers, researchers from the French National Institute of Geography found that this center is located north of Vilnius (26 km), near the village of Purnuškiai.
