Ignalina

You are going to Ladakalnis – the most famous observation deck in Aukštaitija National Park. Ladakalnis is a hill 176 m above sea level, perched in the chain of hills of the Šiliniškės ridge, which, like a rattled dragon’s ridge, extends in both directions as far as the eye can see. It is believed that sacrifices were made on this mountain to the Lada goddess of life, the Great Mother, the mother of the whole world. This mountain offers a wonderful panorama: you can see as many as 6 lakes. Ladakalnis has been declared a geomorphological natural monument.

We continue to the educational program in Bird Village. Bird village Cijonai is a village in Ignalina district. A place where you can see more birds than you have ever seen and hear more of their voices than you have ever heard. Hiking through the swamp in search of bird eggs, stories about birds in the largest nest in Lithuania, baking an egg on a campfire and roasted quail for lunch – these are just some of the entertainment and pleasures you will experience when visiting the Bird Village.
