Krekenava
We are going to the Upytė Linen Museum. The educational program “Linen Road” is waiting for you here. The museum is located in a windmill. Stultiškės windmill was built in 1880. The mill is four stories high, with a swiveling hat against the wind. There is a Linen Museum, where you can get acquainted with ancient linen processing, various exhibits: weaving looms, linen processing tools, patterned tablecloths, towels, etc. Everyone will be able to try to scrape the linen heads, think, crack and comb the fiber, even try to weave.
We continue to Krekenava Regional Park. The exposition reveals the uniqueness of the regional park – the middle landscape of Nevėžis with meadows, many old thieves, and their remains. The exposition introduces the flora and fauna of the park, tells about the life of people near Nevėžis: mounds, manors, villages and towns, water mills, famous people.
Next to the park visitor center in 2014. a steel asymmetric observation tower with atotamps was built. Its height is 30 m. The observation deck is located at an altitude of 25 m. From here you can admire the Nevėžis Valley and see the surrounding area at a distance of about 10 km. In the valley, the developed Nevėžis river, old ravines, and estuaries can be seen perfectly. In the distance, you can see the town of Krekenava, the towers of the small basilica, etc.
We are going to the Pašiliai bison. With the bison worker, you will be able to enjoy the bison from the covered – observation deck, watch them feed, draw their huge backs into the trunks of the trees, and rest in the sun. Pick up bread to feed the bison.
